Come Bet

It is important to know how the come bet is played and that it consists of two rounds. In the first round, if a 7 or 11 is rolled then it wins. However if a 2, 3, or 12 is rolled then the come bet loses. The come bet will be moved to a box representing the number rolled if the roll was 4,5,6,8,9, or 10. Then, this is the come bet point number. In the second round the come bet must be rolled before the 7 for a second round win. The bet loses if the seven is rolled before the come bet number.

After the come out roll, when a point has already been made, can wagers be made. And, just like the normal pass point, odds can be placed on the come bet. When this happens, the dealer will places the odds, a little offset, on the bet in the box. This offset of the bet shows that it is not the come bet but rater the odds bet. Also, the dealer is the one who does this, not the player.

If the shooter makes the point then other players, based on the come bet, may find they have a come bet and the come out roll will occur on the next roll.

When this happens the odds bets on come wagers for the come out roll and considered “not working.” What this means is that if a 6 is rolled by the shooter on the come out roll then any player with come bets active will lose their initial bet but their bet on the odds will be given back.

The odds will not win if the come point is rolled however the come bet will so the odds are returned. The player has control over the odds in the sense that he can tell the dealer he wants his odds working. This means that if the number rolled matches the come point the come bet and odds bet will win. However, if a 7 is rolled then both of the bets will be lost.

Don’t Come Bet

The don’t come bet consists of two rounds. To win, a 2 or 3 must be rolled in the first round. It will lose if a 7 or 11 is rolled. A standoff occurs when a 12 is rolled in the first round and in this situation the player may decide to take his bet back.

When the roll is a 4,5,6,8,9, or 01 then the base dealer will move the don’t come bet to the box. This represents the number the shooter threw. If a7 is rolled before the don’t come point in the second round then it is a win.

Only after the come out roll may don’t come wagers be made. A point must have been established before this, too. Similar to the pass line bet, odds can also be placed on the don’t’ come bet. When this happens, the dealer will place the odds on the box. The dealer will offset the bet to mark it as an odds bet and so it is not confused with the don’t come bet that was made originally.

Single Roll Bets

A single shooter roll results from proposition or single roll bets. Players cannot place these bets themselves. Instead, the stickman must do it and usually they are placed in the center of craps tables.

These bets include the following:

2 (snake eyes, or Aces)
Wins if 2 is rolled by the shooter.
3 (ace-deuce)
Wins if  3 is rolled by the shooter.
Yo
Wins if 11is rolled by the shooter.
12 (boxcars, or midnight)
Wins if 12 is rolled by the shooter.
2 or 12 (hi-lo)
Wins if 2 or 12 is rolled by the shooter. This bet is placed on the line dividing the 2 and 12 bets by the stickman.
Any Craps
Any Craps wins if 2, 3 or 12 is rolled by the shooter.
C & E
This is a combination bet where the player bets half on yo (11) and half on craps. It is guaranteed that one of the bets will always lose, however there is potential that the other will win.
Any seven
If the shooter rolls 7, this bet wins. Sometimes called Big Red because the 7 on the layout is typically big and bright red.

Field
Betting the field is betting that the next roll will be on one of the following numbers: 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12. If a 2 or 12 is rolled the bet then the bet usually pays more with 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 . If a 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11 is rolled the bet will pay 1:1.

The player places the field bet directly, which is different from other proposition bets that only the dealer or stickman can place.

The Horn
The horn bet is based on betting simultaneously on 2, 3, 11, and 12 on the next roll. This one bet is really four different bets and it will pay depending on what number is rolled. Then, the three units that lost are subtracted from the winning bet.

Some players prefer a Horn High bet to avoid confusion and making change while bets are being made. A Horn High bet is the same four way bet described above, but it has an extra unit betting on a specific number. An example of this would be if you had a $5 chip and place it in the middle you could say, “horn high yo.” This will tell the dealers you are placing a horn bet with four units on the four horn numbers and the fifth number on 11, or yo.
